ICCO-commissioned research into ‘the talent issue’ has progressed into its final stages and should be available for release by the end of the summer. This collaborative effort, which incorporates data from The Holmes Group, analysis from consultancy Ketchum and many hours of hard work from graduate students at New York University, focuses specifically on staff turnover in the public relations consultancy business: what causes it, and what can be done to prevent it. Identified by ICCO members as the single greatest challenge to public relations consultancies today, capturing ‘talent’ (through both recruitment and retention) is clearly an issue that is fundamental to the future success of the business.
