ICCO's first regional summit was held in November 20-21 at the Marriott Hotel in the centre of bustling Warsaw, Poland. Leaders from clients and agencies came together for a lively two-day dialogue on trends in the business. The event, entitled "PR Forum: The ICCO Central & Eastern European Summit", was organised by the Polish Public Relations Consultancy Association (PPRCA).
The first day of the conference focused on local issues, with panels and speakers covering community relations, CSR, and the role of expert and celebrity spokespeople. Original research was presented on both professional and public attitudes, and case studies brought the topics to life.
The second day featured international topics. ICCO President Lou Capozzi opened the discussion with an overview on the global growth of public relations and the opportunities for the profession - especially for firms. Other international speakers reviewed trends, techniques and ethical challenges facing the industry.
On both days, breakout sessions focused on a broad range of tactical activities. A highlight of the event was the celebration of the PPRCA "Golden Clip Awards" competition.
