The International Communications Consultancy Organisation (ICCO) is the voice of public relations consultancies across the globe. The ICCO membership comprises national trade associations representing independent public relations consultancies in twenty-nine countries around the world: from Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, America and Australia. These affiliated trade associations collectively have over 1,000 PR consultancies as their members, who between them employ some 25,000 staff. For complete information on our organisation and the benefits of membership, download a credentials presentation here. What we do ICCO provides a forum for senior management of the world's best PR consultancies to meet and address issues of mutual interest and concern. Members work together to raise standards of quality, address ethical issues, harmonise professional PR consultancy practice, and share knowledge. Through the comprehensive online database, ICCO also acts as a matchmaker between consultancies in different countries. Members have an opportunity to meet in person twice a year at meetings of the Board, at the bi-annual ICCO Global Summit and at any number of ICCO regional summits and other sponsored events. Standards Member countries all conform to the highest standards through the organisation's own professional code, the Stockholm Charter, and since 2005 have adopted the International Public Relations Association’s Charter on Media Transparency . Consultancy Management Standard Currently some 200 PR consultancies in twelve countries around the world have adopted the Consultancy Management Standard (CMS). First introduced by the UK’s Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA), CMS provides clients with a unique quality guarantee.
